Privacy Policy

In short: Tune runs on your Mac and makes no internet connections. There is no account, no telemetry and no analytics, in the app or on this site. Your journal and history stay on your Mac.

This policy explains how Ambysto Technologies LLC ("Ambysto", "we", "us") handles personal information for the Ambysto Tune app ("Tune") and this website. It applies together with the Ambysto Privacy Policy, which covers all our products. Where this page is more specific about Tune, this page applies.

1. What stays on your Mac

To restore what it changed, Tune keeps a journal of each change: the setting, the value it replaced, the value it wrote and when. It also keeps a history of changes and restores, a restore script and its own settings.

• All of it is stored on your Mac only, in ~/Library/Application Support/Ambysto Tune. We never receive it.
• The journal and history are kept until you delete them. Free shows the last 7 days of history; Pro shows all of it.
• To show login items, Tune reads the list of background agents on your Mac. It does not read your files, messages or browsing.
• Tune never asks for Full Disk Access, Accessibility or Automation permissions.
• Export and the report (Pro) write a file only when you ask, to a place you choose.

2. Connections Tune makes

None. Tune does not connect to the internet: no update check, no telemetry, no license server. The privacy checklist only opens panes of System Settings on your Mac.

3. Your license key

A Pro license key is checked on your Mac, offline. Checking it sends nothing to us.

4. When you buy Pro

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive the details needed to issue and support your license, such as your name, email address and billing country, and limited card details such as the card brand, last four digits and expiry date. We do not store full card numbers. We use these details to deliver your key, send your receipt, handle refunds and answer support requests.

5. This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver and secure the site.

6. When you email us

If you write to us, we keep your message and email address to answer you and to keep a record of support requests.

7. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Tune's sales and support, such as payment processing, email delivery and hosting, under contracts that limit their use of the data; with authorities, where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and with a buyer or successor, if our business is involved in a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

8. Data retention

We keep purchase and support records as long as needed to support your license, and longer only where we must keep records for legal, tax or accounting reasons.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email contact@ambysto.com. We respond within 30 days. Data that Tune keeps on your Mac is under your control: you can delete Tune's folder in Application Support after restoring your settings.

10. International transfers

Ambysto is based in the United States and our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Children

Tune is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version on this page. For material changes, we will notify customers by email.
